Natural, purifying, soothing and cleansing, clays is a product with multiple benefits that has been recognized for millennia for its positive actions on our body! Let us tell you everything about this naturally rich soil.
What are the benefits of clay?
In Ancient Egypt, clay was already used to treat wounds. It is now well known that this soil has many other virtues! Here are some of the main ones:
It helps to disinfect and soothe wounds: in the event of cuts or burns for example. The application of clay prevents infection and participates in the natural reconstitution of skin cells. This is possible thanks to its very high content of mineral salts and silica.
It is a key ally to treat problem skin: clay helps the skin to get rid of toxins and helps to renew cells. The use of clay is therefore essential to a nice, smooth and clean skin.
Helps relieve joint pain: Clay is often used in spa programs to cure joint pain. Indeed, it has relaxing and analgesic properties, which help to get rid of joint and muscle pain such as back aches or other strains and sprains…
Helps to calm inflammation: applied locally as a poultice, clay can help calm inflammation. Sprains, hematoma, bumps or tendonitis, it will bring almost immediate relief! It also helps to relieve and treat some internal problems.
How to use clay daily?
We use 3 different families of clays:
- Illite Green Clay
- Green Montmorillonite Clay
- White Kaolin.
Each of these clays has different properties, so you must know them well to choose correctly.
Illite Green Clay is a clay rich in mineral salts and trace elements, with high absorption properties (like a sponge). It is purifying, healing and suitable for small everyday sores. This clay can be used as a face mask to correct imperfections for normal or oily skin (not dry). You can also make a mask for oily hair (as a paste) and to help against scalp perspiration (powder).
USE
- face masks (if used on very dry skin, a moisturizer should be used afterwards,)
- poultices
- plasters

- in dusting, in full body baths, hands or feet baths
Green Montmorillonite Clay has adsorbent (like a magnet), detoxifying, re-mineralising, purifying and restorative properties. It is indicated for skin with oily tendencies and imperfections.

These 3 clays are available from Homeocan, in the form of easy-to-use tubes or sachets. They are 100% natural and made in France.
Good to know: clay is a natural product that is very well tolerated by the body, regardless of how it is used. However, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or if you have problems with blood pressure or bowel disease, always seek the advice of a doctor before using it. To prepare your clay mixtures, choose the use of “natural” utensils: wooden spoon, glass jar… Avoid metal and plastic, which may distort the product and impair its effectiveness.
You know it now, clay is not just a cure, it’s a way of life to avoid ailments altogether!
