When you think of Eucalyptus, you may be thinking of Australia and its iconic animal, the Koala, known to nibble on the leaves of this tree all day. Yet it would be a shame to reduce Eucalyptus to this image as its virtues and benefits from its everyday uses can help you stay healthy!

Eucalyptus and its use in Aromatherapy

Native to Australia, Eucalyptus is a tree that can now be found in many parts of the world, especially in Asia and in the Mediterranean basin. There re thought to be more than 600 different subspecies! Research on Eucalyptus Essential Oil began in the first half of the 20th century, and its benefits are now recognized by the WHO (World Health Organization).

In Aromatherapy, it is the leaves of the tree that are distilled to obtain the Essential Oil, whose name and use change according to the type of tree used.

Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil comes from the leaves of the eucalyptus globulus tree. It is an important ally to fight against the common ailments of winter affecting the respiratory system (colds, sinusitis, bronchitis …). This essential oil helps to calm the cough and evacuate bronchial sputum.
