We all know ivy as this climbing plant that invades tree trunks and suffocates them by their proliferation. Most often, it is used as decorative plant on the facades of our houses or in interior decoration.

Why did we put this extraordinary component in Kids 0-9 Herbal Cough and Cold Syrup?

Its active ingredients

The hedera helix is the most common Ivy source with medical purpose . There are many components in this plant, and the main categories include triterpene saponins, flavonoids, etc. Saponins are said to be the key factors to its general benefits.

Through recognized observational studies*, ivy leaf extract has been shown to have bronchodilating effects and mucolytic effects. In English, it means that its expectorant properties relieves coughs and loosens the mucus and phlegms that cough and cold generate.

“Ivy leaf is widely used for cough relief, asthma, bronchitis, lung and bronchial support in children of all ages and adults as well.

This is the reason why, we have decided to manufacture in our laboratory, this brand-new Kids syrup. This Herbal syrup , with ivy leaf extract is effective as a natural solution. It will help to fight off  cold and flu symptoms that we may experience each temperatures changes.

Kind reminder, as our complete Kids 0-9 line, this syrup is gluten-free, sugar-free and non drwowsy. Its little extra…It is honey-free as well!

One Ukrainian study group** conducted a CCT comparing ivy to acetylcysteine in acute bronchitis [23]. A total of 50 children were treated for 7–10 days with either syrup containing ivy leaf extract or 300–1200 mg of acetylcysteine. Symptoms (cough, sputum, shortness of breath) were improved in both groups after treatment. Compared to the baseline, both treatment groups showed improved spirometric values (FVC, FEV1, PEF) after treatment. Spirometric parameters were significantly better in the group receiving the ivy formulation. The authors conclude that ivy leaf has bronchodilatory as well as mucolytic effects
